Review: Fero – Suorin

A stylish pod

Underneath its basic exterior, the Fero boasts some seriously well-designed functionality. It’s easy to use and delivers delicious flavours. With a few tweaks, it could be a brilliant pod that would really suit more experienced vapers. It comes with two cartridges, and you can use it to try direct and indirect inhalation.

A multifunctional pod

A USB-C port on the side of the Fero allows fast charging of the built-in 1000 mAh battery. The size of the Fero means it doesn’t have the longest battery life, but it’s what you’d expect for a 0.8 ohm cartridge. The battery housing is decorated with a subtle, wavy design.

On the front of the Fero, there’s a slider to adjust the airflow for cooling the coil. The draw is also different when you open the slider all the way – it’s airier, with a very restricted direct vape.  Of course, the more closed it is, the tighter the draw becomes for tight indirect inhalation.

On the opposite side from the USB port, there’s a fire button. You can also use it to adjust the settings on the Fero. To use the pod, push the fire button or just inhale. You can lock the fire button via the menu and just have inhalation mode on. This is pretty handy when your Fero is in your pocket or bag, and you don’t want it to fire at the wrong time.

Clicking three times lets you change the power level on the Fero, which can deliver up to 25 W. When you put the cartridge into the battery housing, the pod recognises the coil’s ohm value and will tell you the best power level to use.

The screen is nice and bright, and the colourful LED really increases visibility. You can also change the light display via the menu. The information displayed is easy to read. That said, the details of the options in the main menu are too small to read at a glance.

The Fero comes with two cartridges. The 0.8 ohm one is for indirect inhalation and the other, at 0.6 ohm, offers a more responsive vape. Like most pods, you access the filling hole by lifting a silicone tab. It holds 3 ml, so you won’t have to refill it too often.

The coil is sealed inside the cartridge. When you notice the flavours starting to deteriorate, you’ll need to throw away the cartridge and replace it. The flavours it delivers are strong and true.

Whichever cartridge you use, the results are great. The 0.8 ohm cartridge offers a balanced, tight draw. You can even make clouds with the 0.6 ohm coil without it guzzling your liquid. We’d have preferred it to have a longer battery life with the 0.6 ohm coil, to let you vape for longer.
